Introduction

wydProxy is a high-performance, decentralized tunneling and routing infrastructure. It allows you to securely expose local services, game servers, and web applications to the public internet without configuring complex port forwarding or managing dynamic DNS.

Built on top of FRP (Fast Reverse Proxy) and managed via a custom Node.js control plane, wydProxy provides a seamless, secure, and scalable way to manage your network endpoints.

Installing the Client

Our custom client allows you to connect your server to our proxy without you having to work out the networking headaches

Run this installer from your linux terminal to install:

curl -fsSL http://proxy.wymingdigital.co.uk/files/installers/wyd-agent-installer-amd64.sh | sudo bash

Once installed, access the management webUI on port 8888 (avalible on all interfaces)

Quick Start

Getting started with wydProxy takes less than a minute. You will need a Linux-based machine (Ubuntu, Debian, etc.) and an active wydProxy account.

  1. Log in to your wydProxy Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the My Servers tab to view your registered nodes.
  3. Approve your server to enable tunnel creation.
  4. Create a new tunnel and copy the provided configuration.

Agent Setup

The wydProxy agent runs locally on your machine, managing the FRP client and providing a local web dashboard for easy control.

To install the agent automatically, run the following command in your terminal:

curl -fsSL https://proxy.wymingdigital.co.uk/files/wyd-agent/install.sh | sudo bash

Once installed, the agent will start automatically. You can access the local management dashboard by opening your browser and navigating to:

http://localhost:8888

Use your wydProxy account credentials to log in and approve the server.

Tunnel Management

Tunnels can be created and managed directly from your web dashboard. Each tunnel requires a target local port and a protocol.

Supported Protocols

To start or stop a tunnel, use the Start or Stop buttons next to the tunnel in your local agent dashboard.

IP Whitelisting

For enhanced security, you can restrict access to your TCP/UDP tunnels to specific IP addresses or CIDR ranges. This is enforced at the proxy node level using iptables.

Note: IP whitelisting is not available for HTTP/HTTPS tunnels, as they share ports 80 and 443 with other services.

  1. Open your local agent dashboard (http://localhost:8888).
  2. Find the tunnel you wish to secure and click Manage under the IP Whitelist section.
  3. Enter one IP address or CIDR range per line (e.g., 192.168.1.50 or 10.0.0.0/8).
  4. Click Save Changes. The proxy node will instantly update its firewall rules.

FAQ

Why does my Minecraft server show the proxy IP?

Because traffic is routed through the proxy node, your server will see connections originating from the proxy's internal IP. This is normal and does not affect gameplay.

How do I update the agent?

Simply re-run the installation script. It will safely download the latest binaries and restart the service without deleting your existing tunnel configurations.
